Nursery Rooms : Imps & Sprites (approx 15 months – 2 years)
Staff ratio 1:3 under 2 and 1:4 over 2

This is an extension of the baby suite. Once your baby is toddling confidently he or she will progress gradually into this toddler unit. Your baby can explore and play with age appropriate toys and be encouraged to take part in their own creative and imaginative play through the extensive range of toys and activities available. In the Imps and Sprites rooms your child will be provided with a range of activities over the day including messy activities, outdoor play and mark making as well as quiet story and singing times. Again, we take our lead from the ‘Birth to Three Matters’ framework. The children also take part in music lessons provided by a music teacher.

In the toddler unit, your little one will be encouraged to take part in lots of creative and imaginative play. In Imps we begin to promote social eating times. All of the children sit down to eat together which encourages interaction with each other and the staff. Here little conversations begin! Every day is a new experience with singing sessions, sand, water, collages, building and messy play being just for starters.

In toddler rooms, we continue to build upon your child's social skills and encourage independence in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Your child will start to become aware of his/her peers and make new friends whilst developing skills such as counting, shapes and colours.

An individual report is given to you at the end of the day to keep you informed of the activities your child has participated in, what they have eaten and any development milestones they may have achieved.
